Forget About Translation Marketing Carnival!

Remember last time I suggested we push the June Carnival to July. The reason was that out of about 30 submissions, there was not a single one from a translator. This time, same old story: out of 25 submissions, there is NOT a single one from a translator.

So I have decided to simply forget about the Translation Service Marketing Carnival. After all, the Carnival was intended for you, translators and/or interpreters. If you are not interested in Carnivals, let’s just forget about it :-) )

The June Translation Marketing Carnival Will be… in July!

I am sad to say that I’ve had to postpone the June Carnival. The reason for this is simply that there were no submissions, at least NOT ONE of the 15 submissions received was from a translator or an interpreter!

In fact, the submissions I got were so widely (and wildly :-) off-topic that it would’ve been totally absurd to publish them in this blog!

So, there you are!

Let’s push it to July, maybe you’ll do something about it :-)

As I keep telling you, this blog is yours and I’m sure it would be real cool if you could share your experience with the community

So, let’s repeat the topic: “Your Favorite Strategy, Tactic or Technique for Marketing Your Translation and/or Interpreting services.”

Amsall’s May 16, 2007 Translation Marketing Carnival

Welcome to the May 16, 2007 edition of amsall’s translation marketing carnival.

getting clients

If you want to get clients, you’ll have to talk to them says C.J. Hayden, MCC

An absolute must-read for introverted translators :-)

Extracts from her article:

“If you want people to become your clients, they need to get to know you, learn to like you, and believe they can trust you. And for that, they really do need to meet you.”

then

“What you’ll discover if you begin to meet clients in person, talk to them on the phone, and ask directly for their business, is that it gets easier the more you do it. It will build your confidence in yourself — and the confidence your prospective clients have in you — at the same time.”

and finally

“If you’re in the business of serving people, your best marketing tool is your own voice. So put it to work and start talking to them.”

keeping in touch with clients

You’ve met a prospective client or this is a person who is already your client. Now, you want to keep in touch without coming off as a nuisance. A post by marketer Ilise Benun tells you how to go about it.
